Interesting comment about planting Cypress trees to stop soil erosion.
The roots of a Cypress tree only go down and do not spread out from the tree.
If you want to stop soil erosion, the Cypress is the last tree you would choose.

This really sets me in the mood for my visit to Italy in 2 months. I have been brushing up my Italian and this video highlights the beauty of Tuscan architecture, art, food and wine. Our home in Silicon Valley California is modeled after an Italian Villa – Villa Medici – so it is essential that we stay closely in touch with Italy to give our home even more authentic features. Thanks Rick.

What does it mean between Florence and Rome is the region of Tuscany??? LOL Tuscany is Tuscany, Rome is in Latium and Latium starts further north than Rome. Even Tuscany goes more up north than Florence. My God…

I'm an Italian, I'm a great explorer and a tourist. I do not follow routes for tourists but the real life of the places. I congratulate you on siena and Tuscany as they really are. I travel all over Europe but at the end the most beautiful place in the world is at home … true Italy.

Siena is a joy! I went there for three summers as a participant of a music festival and lived there for one year. It totally changes character when the summer tourists leave, but still it is so beautiful. A glorious place!
