    Formula: Fresh chopped Oregano, Olive Oil, 2 Anchovies if you want to do that, Minced Garlic, red chili flakes, dry oregano, San Marzano Tomatoes, Salt, Sugar, Black Pepper, cook on simmer 35 – 40 minutes. Precook Minced garlic, oregano, optional anchovies, for a few minutes. All these ingredients just for this particular sauce probably costs as much as a whole pizza would cost. Buy all the ingredients for this and see what price you end up with compared to going to the local Italian restaurant to get a pizza for like 12.99 or something.

    MARJORAM! This is a key ingredient to every pizza sauce. Never tried baking soda but to cut the acidity I prefer a generous teaspoon of honey. Works really well.

    There are virtually endless ways to make it. I usually also fry some tomato puree, black pepper and keep the oregano quite subtile. A splash of balsamico mingles well with tomatoes.

    I prefer dried oregano to fresh tbh, strangely dried chives are also a lot better than fresh :)mmmm smoky. Save my anchovies for the pizza and just use more salt in the sauce.

    I think you could substitute the Anchovies for mushroms, the idea of the anchovies is to boost the umami, shouldn't the mushrooms have the same effect?
