2,300 years ago the Hellenes called the Italian Peninsula, "Enotria", wine land, and there is a reason.

mmh, they didn't really get into the grapes that Australia does it's best wines in, like Shiraz or cab sav's. …. the Sangiovese is still fairly new to Australia , but it seems to come more and more into fashion …. but maybe for Australia to really master the lighter sort of red they just have to much sun! … That's why most pino's down here taste like heavy reds and never like they should 😉

You should do this with a French expert, I'd love to know what they think of some Australian Petit Verdot or Pinot Noir.

I can watch Gennaro enjoying food and drinks all day! I wonder how a meal with Jamie, Gennaro and Anthony Bourdain would go. Such wildly different personalities but the same love for food.

Anyway, I'd love to see more like this with a practical side. Perhaps bring in some other regions like South America and California wines. Perhaps cost-based comparisons for us frugal folk? Guess/Rate the cheap wine contest – that sort of thing.

Loving the channel so far, but I've got a question: Will you ever touch upon the subject of mead? I've grown quite fond of this historical drink, and feel that it hasn't gotten the acknowledgement it deserves in mainstream media, apart from some odd book, film or video game with a Viking theme. granted, there aren't as many mead-brewers today, but I'm sure you'll be able to find someone who knows what they're doing and make good meads?

I absolutely love that crazy Italian ! Good lesson as well, things to keep an eye on when choosing the right wine for the right dish.

You chose mount langi? Not exactly showcasing the best Australian wines… Not something from Margaret River? Not one of our Chardonnays?

How to tell the difference? Which one has the cork and which one has the screw cap? Interesting that Gennaro only got it wrong when they both had screw caps :p Great video though!

I appreciate a good wine but don't drink so much anymore as I am allergic to sulphites & unfortunately reds are full of them 🍷

Mmm Australian wine! Last year I went to the food and wine show held in my city and there was an abundance of variety and deliciousness of Australian made wine. Makes me feel lucky to live here!
