I've been enjoying Gina's videos for a while. She reminds me of my own Italian grandmother who actually spoke no English but would let me sit at the table and watch her cook every Sunday morning for 17 years as I was growing up. But not until today did I read her bio and was surprised to see that she was born in Faeto – the same town as my paternal grandfather! My granddad was born Salvatore Vincenzo Finaldi on April 7, 1884. He immigrated to the USA in the early 1900's and resided in Newark, NJ. I never met him as he died in the year before I was born. So it occurs to me that Gina and I may be distant cousins! Much love.

You are so sweet and I love to watch you cook. Listening to you talk brought tears to my eyes because you sound so much like my Grandma. She was Italian also, born in Naples, and spoke just like you. Especially the way you say oil. When I was young I always thought she was saying oleo. You bring out so many wonderful memories for me and you make me smile and I love your recipes. God Bless.

I have some fresh veggies and herbs in my garden, I'm making this over the weekend. You and your accent remind me so much of my time as a child. The ladies would always be cooking and talking in the kitchen and the men would be in the dining room playing cards with their sweet broken English accents. The bad stuff was always said in full Italian but we kids figured it out😁 If we would all get back to that way of life, the world would be a better place. Miss those times. Thank you and stay as sweet as you are. Blessings to you and your family.

I love the figs. On Christmas Eve I cut figs in half and roast them very slowly with brown sugar on top in the oven. Then on Christmas morning, I take them out and serve them on thick bread slices with ricotta and nuts and honey. Wonderful treat!

The soup looks fantastic! I love zucchini, but my spouse not so much. I love zucchini frittata. I wish I was your neighbor and I would stop by around dinner every day. I'm not a Mooch, I would bring wine and would clean up after dinner.
