Caggiunitt are traditional Christmas treats and they are originally from the region of Abruzzo (near Rome).
    What filling do you prefer?
    1) Grape Jam
    2) Ricotta and Cinnamon
    3) Nutella

That dough looks beautiful. I am half Calabrian and half Abruzze. It’s funny, but I remember my Calabrese grandmom, making these, but not the Abruzze.maybe it was just a variation because I seem to remember some ricotta and or maybe ground chestnuts in the filling. I just love seeing the great stuff of my ancestors. Love your background music

Abruzzese's cooking is very good but I wonder how they can miss to cook fried olives (liva fritta). They're so close to olives dreamland 🙂
I'm joking, this video is amazing…

Hi Vincenzo, I love these caggiunitt & always make a big batch around Christmas time. There's a group of us girls which is about four family all Abbruzzezi & we all get together on the around Christmas time on a weekend around 11am at someone's house, everyone brings there own ingredients & we made, cook & best of all eat. it's all great fun & because we all have our own spin on the filling, at the end we all swap with each other so we get the taste of different versions, I love it. I never thought I could find anything like this on ytube because this is a really old recipe. Thank you Vincenzo. please ask nonna if she knows how to make Zeppoli fritte con le patate. That's the best in the world of donuts, you can't stop at one. Ciao Ciao
