I'm a hungarian but when I was a child, my mother and my grandmother always used this gadget to make a coffee. I 've never thought that this was an italian invention. 🙂 Once my grandma asked me to clean the coffee-maker with vinegar but after doing that I forgot to wash it with water. So the next portion of coffee that she prepared had a little bit taste of vinegar. 😀

Many years ago when I was learning Italian in Perugia, my padrona called it a 'brikka' – is this a common word or just something local?

Fidati essendo io napoletano so quello che dico.
