    I normally use home-made limoncello to soak the biscuits. Delicious!

    But sometimes I mix half milk, half rum (or bourbon), add some sugar and a bit of nutmeg and cinnamon, and soak the biscuits in that… very festive! Or add a bit of coffee for that tiramisu flavour… 😀

    Any combination of dry and candied fruits and nuts can be put into the ricotta mix. I love dry figs and candied lemon and orange peel in it. And pistachio. Lovely stuff!

    The possibilities are endless!

    I have tried it soaking the sponge fingers in frangelico liquer. The result?? Absolutely amazing.
