Chocolate Semifreddo: Italian inspired nougatine frozen dessert

Creamy however crispy with the softening appeal of rum and the sweetness of meringue… my Semifreddo wants a number of hours within the freezer (ideally 8), take it out and lower it up a couple of minutes to an hour earlier than serving (then maintain it within the fridge), and it will be like smooth nougat come dessert-time!

We had this chocolate semifreddo for desert this evening and it was a sensation. Hubby (after eating a rather large slice) said it was very rich. I thought it was lovely, the rum gave it a lovely warm rich taste even though it came out of the freezer, and the chocolate shavings were hard crunchy almost toffee like. Thank you Sacha xxxxx

Hi Sacha, we had this for desert this evening, although my husband (after finishing his rather large slice) said it was alittle rich, I thought it was a slice of heaven. The rum gave it a lovely rich warm taste, even though it came out of the freezer, and the chocolate was hard and crunchy. This chocolate semifreddo now goes on my list of special deserts. Thank you Sacha xxxxxx

Hi Sacha, I made this this morning, and looking forward to trying it tomorrow. Even though we don't really drink alcohol, I did put in the rum, and have to say it smelt wonderful. Thank you again Sacha another great recipe xxxxxxxxx
